Wow so many cool musical things going on in my world right now!! It’s funny how everything starts to happen at the same time!
First off, I am SO happy to finally be able to post a Brand New Recording of my new project Teeny Tiger!! I was happy to be apart of a secret surprise birthday recording/tribute show for my pal of Jazz Mafia, Adam Theis! There were 9 groups total that took Adam’s original songs and did remakes of them. The song I chose was “Outro”, and the original recording was only 1:30 long; so I wrote the rest of the music and got some friends together, got ahold of Jim Greer @ 9th Street Opus and recorded this track!
We also just played a surprise birthday show for Adam at the New Parish in Oakland, and WOW he was surprised! I also performed with the Matt Wong Septet and had fun jamming out to his arrangement. It was so amazing to be a part of such a special tribute for someone who has influenced and inspired me since I first heard him play back in 2001?! Crazy. It was also so neat to see so many different amazing Bay Area musicians come together to honor Adam, we all love him so much!!
A week before that, I joined forces with my friend Jerry Kennedy for a special duo performance. People loved it so much (including us!) that we are going to write and arrange even more music to record & perform. Here’s a pic from the event.

What else?! The Tommy Igoe Big Band has been slamming Yoshi’s San Francisco every Tuesday night with amazing special guests and always high-quality music! Sarah from the radio station Alice 97.3 was just there singing with us last week, and it was super fun! I still can’t believe she managed to learn all of those tunes so fast, and without ever playing with a big band before!! Go Girl!!!
Here’s a quick video she posted of us from backstage:
What’s to come?! So much more!! Check my calendar for public events to attend, I’ll keep updating it! 🙂
